Do you have what it takes to be an outstanding instructor?

This course will guide you through different teaching formats, styles, and methods of effective and engaging instructors. Through the demonstration of different training tools, development of platform skills, and expert advice on how to deliver standard courses and create original material for delivery, you’ll maximize your opportunities for interactive skill training.

Who Can be a Real Estate Instructor

  1. Must hold a current Massachusetts broker license.
  2. Have a minimum of two years of work experience as a real estate broker involving at least 25 hours per week.
  3. Co-taught or audited the curriculum in an authorized school before they may teach it.
  4. Must have a minimum of 30 hours of instruction in an instructor training program.

 

An individual failing to satisfy the above requirements may be granted approval as a Real Estate Instructor at the discretion of the Board.

Course Overview

Pre-Course Work (2 hours): Students will explore and assess the strengths of their talents with the Clifton Strength Finder. This is included in your registration price. Please email ctaylor@marealtor.com once you register to get your access code.

Days 1 and 2 (both 8-hour days):
Both days will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1 hour for lunch. Topics include going over your Clifton Strength Finder results, the licensing process, and breakout activities reviewing subject matter required by Massachusetts.

Take-Home Project (8 hours):
To be done after the first in-person sessions and before the final session. The homework consists of creating an outline for a new course using student takeaways with a 1-minute video to promote it. Make sure to use a snappy title!

Day 3 (5 hours):
The final day will be from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Learn about the rules, regulations, and tips for online course delivery as well as requirements specific to Massachusetts instructors.
