WALTHAM, Mass. – September 26, 2019– The Massachusetts Association of Realtors® Charitable Foundation recently announced the 2019 recipients of its fall Housing and Homeless Assistance Grants. The following 14 charities were nominated by local Realtor® Associations and then selected to receive a share of $15,000 in grants based on their initiatives to provide affordable housing, shelter, and other emergency care services within Massachusetts:
Berkshire County Kids’ Place & Violence Prevention Center
Central MA Housing, Donations Clearing House
DDMA/Carolina Hill Shelter
Domestic Violence Ended, Inc. DOVE
Friends of Homeless of the South Shore
Homes for Our Troops
Matthew 25, Inc.
“Realtors® care deeply about the communities that they live and work in and this is why it means so much to us that we can issue these grants to 14 great charitable organizations that are making a true difference in the lives of people in need,” said MAR Charitable Foundation Chair Joan Witter, a Realtor® with Compass.
Housing and Homeless Assistance Grant Program Overview:
The Charitable Foundation’s Board of Trustees created this program in 2000 to encourage Realtor® support for local non-profit groups and their initiatives to provide affordable housing, shelter and other emergency care services within the Commonwealth.
Each local Realtor® association in Massachusetts is able to nominate housing or homeless assistance charitable organizations (501(C)(3)s) from their jurisdictional area for a monetary grant from the Foundation. Grants are awarded in the spring and fall of each calendar year.
