The Greater Boston Association of Realtors selects Bill Wright, RE/MAX Executive Realty as the Good Neighbor Award Winner for 2020
WALTHAM, Mass. - September 18, 2020 - The Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) announced Bill Wright, a Realtor® with RE/MAX Executive Realty in Franklin, as the 2020 MAR Good Neighbor Award winner for his work on behalf of The RE/MAX Executive Realty Charitable Foundation. The Good Neighbor Award recognizes Wright for his community activism, evident with his charitable ventures on behalf of RE/MAX.
The RE/MAX Executive Charitable Foundation is a non-profit, 501-c3 organization created to carry out the philanthropic mission of RE/MAX Executive Realty Associates. The foundation was established in 2009 by Wright to fund financial or service-based needs in the company's market. The foundation's primary goal is to improve the lives of families or individuals in the MA/RI market area. During his time with the foundation, Wright and the Foundation raised over $200,000 for this effort.
“On behalf of all of MAR’s membership, we congratulate and thank Bill for all of his efforts to contribute to the local communities in which he serves. Bill is a great example of a REALTOR® who embodies commitment not only to his clients and customers, but to the greater civic, charitable and professional communities that he lives and works in”, said Theresa Hatton, CEO of MAR.
Outside of the RE/MAX Charitable Foundation, Bill was a coach for the Medway High School football team for over 12 years, spending hours of personal time on the gridiron. To the over 1,000 players he coached throughout his career in the community, Bill was a caring and engaged role model and mentor.
Additionally, Bill was the Chairman of Medway’s Economic Development Board for five years. He played a critical role in working with town, state and local industries to bring sewer to a much-needed industrial area. This entailed meeting with residents and working with them to help mitigate any impact on top of enticing new businesses to the area. In addition, Bill was the local coordinator for the Meals on Wheels program for 25 years, retiring in 2019. He coordinated with over 35 volunteers to bring lunch and a friendly face to 25-50 people daily. While he has stepped away from his management role, Bill continues to deliver meals. He currently serves on the Prudential Committee of his church.
Established in 2004 and presented annually, the MAR Good Neighbor Award recognizes Realtors® who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to community service through volunteerism and civic and charitable contributions that improve the lives of residents and make their community a better place to live.
Nominations are accepted from Realtors®, industry practitioners, charitable organizations, and the 13 local Realtor® associations in Massachusetts. The selection of the award recipients is made by the MAR Awards and Recognition Committee. The award recipient receives a commemorative trophy and a grant from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® in the name of their designated charity.
