Waltham, Mass. – November 28, 2012 – Trisha McCarthy, broker with Keller Williams Realty in Newburyport will serve as immediate past president of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) in 2013.
As the immediate past president of the Association, McCarthy will serve in an advisory capacity to the MAR president, act as an association spokesperson, and assist in the administration of the affairs of MAR between meetings of the MAR Board of Directors. In this role, she also will serve on the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors during 2013.
A REALTOR® since 1991, McCarthy served as MAR President in 2012. Prior to being president, McCarthy served as president-elect in 2010 and Secretary/Treasurer in 2008 and 2009. An MAR director since 2003, McCarthy was MAR Professional Development Vice-President in 2006 and 2007. She was also Chair of the Online Education Work Group in 2007 and 2008.
On the local level, McCarthy is a member of the North Shore Association of REALTORS®, where she is a member of the New Member Orientation and Professional Standards Committees. She has been a member of the Greater Newburyport Association of REALTORS® (GNAR) Board of Directors since 1999. She was the president of GNAR in 2001 & 2008, vice president in 2000, and secretary in 1999. She was the 2007 chairperson for the GNAR Bylaws Committee, and served on the Education and RPAC Committees in 2007. McCarthy was honored as REALTOR® of the Year by the GNAR in 2001.
Active at the National Association of REALTORS®, McCarthy has been a member of the Board of Directors, Public Policy Coordinating, Risk Management and Land Use Property Rights and Environment Committees.
McCarthy has successfully earned her Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) professional real estate designation, Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC) and her At Home With Diversity (AHWD) designation and e-PRO. In addition, McCarthy is an instructor for the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.
