Waltham, Mass. – January 6, 2014 – Peter Ruffini, Regional Vice President for Jack Conway REALTORS® in Norwell, was installed on December 3, 2013, as president of the 19,000-member Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2014. The event took place at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. and included the installation of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Ruffini’s term officially begins on January 1, 2014.
As president, Ruffini will direct the internal and external activities of the Association; preside at all meetings of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee; represent the Association at important meetings and business functions; and act as the official spokesperson for the Association on issues related to the real estate industry and local housing market. In addition, he will represent MAR and its members on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Board of Directors and the New England REALTORS® Committee this year, and also will serve as an ex-officio member of all state Association committees and work groups.
Prior to serving as 2013 president-elect, Ruffini served two consecutive terms as Secretary/Treasurer. Prior to that, he served as vice president for government affairs in 2010. Ruffini has served on the MAR Board of Directors since 2006. In 2009, Ruffini was the South Region Vice President. He was a member of the Finance Committee and chair of the Technology Committee in 2008. Ruffini has also been a mediation officer and a member of the Technology, Government Affairs, Forms, and Professional Standards Committees in previous years.
On the local level, Ruffini was the 2007 president of the Plymouth and South Shore Association of REALTORS®. Still a member of several committees, Ruffini was his local association’s REALTOR® of the Year in 2009.
Active at the National Association of REALTORS®, Peter is a member of National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) REALTOR® Party Member Involvement Committee and is a member of the NAR Board of Directors. He also spent two years on the NAR Communications Committee.
A REALTOR® since 1996, Ruffini has earned his Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and professional real estate designations and At Home with Diversity (AHWD) and Broker Price Opinion Resources (BPOR), and e-PRO certifications.
