Springfield Broker Elected Western Region Vice President of Massachusetts Association of REALTORS for Second Consecutive Term

WALTHAM, Mass. – January 1, 2014 – Brian Sears, a broker/co-owner at Sears Real Estate in Springfield, has been elected Western Region Vice President for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2014.
 
As vice president for the Western Region, Sears will coordinate association objectives and activities within the Berkshire County Board of REALTORS® and the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley, and meet regularly with local and regional leadership to discuss real estate industry issues of statewide importance.  He automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of his election as a regional vice president.
 
An MAR director since 2007, Sears is a member of the Audit Committee in 2014. Previously, he has served on several committees including the Finance Committee, Dues Enforcement Presidential Advisory Group and the Young Professionals Network Committee. He was Chair of the Technology Committee in 2010.
 
On the local level, Sears served as President of the REALTOR® Association of Pioneer Valley in 2013. He has also served recently on the Finance, Young Professionals Network, and Strategic Planning Committees.
 
At the National level, Sears is the past Chair of the Business Issues Policy Committee and is a member of the Business Issues Policy and Public Policy Coordinating Committees in 2014 at the National Association of REALTORS®.
 
A REALTOR® since 2002 Sears is a former Certified Public Accountant and has earned his Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).  Before becoming a REALTOR®, Sears was a Manager for KPMG Accounting Firm in Boston, MA.
