Waltham, Mass. – January 6, 2014 – Anne Blatz, a broker-manager at Kinlin Grover Real Estate in Brewster, was installed on December 3, 2013 as the Secretary-Treasurer of the 19,000-member Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2013. This is Blatz’s second straight term. The event took place at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. and included the installation of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Blatz’s term officially begins on January 1, 2014.
As secretary, Blatz will determine quorums and be responsible for the preparation and presentation of the minutes and roll call at all meetings of the Association’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Furthermore, she is in charge of the corporate seal of the Association and will execute any documents requiring the signature of the secretary by law.
As treasurer, Blatz is responsible for determining the Association"s financial needs, investing the Association"s reserved funds, and preparing monthly income and expense statements and an annual operating budget for association activities. In addition, she will serve as chairman of the state Association"s Finance Committee. Blatz automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her election.
Prior to being elected secretary-treasurer, Blatz served as Chair of the Professional Standards Committee and as a member of the Finance, Communications, and Strategic Planning Committees. Blatz has served on the MAR Board of Directors since 2004. Blatz also served as the Communications and Technology Focus Area Vice President in 2011, Legal Affairs/Business Development Vice President in 2010, Cape Cod & Islands Region Vice President in 2008 & 2009.
On the local level, Blatz was most recently the Chair of the International Council. She also served as the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® President in 2007, and was the recipient of its REALTOR® of the Year Award in 2006.
At the national level, Blatz was a member of the Housing Opportunities Committee and the State and Local Issues Mobilization Support Committee in 2013. She was also a multi-year member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Resort and Second Homes Committee and the Chair of the Resort and Second Homes Forum in 2011. She was a member of Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Advisory Group, and a member of the 2010 NAR Leadership Academy. In 2007, she was chair of NAR’s Large Board Sub Forum and its vice chair in 2006.
A REALTOR® since 1984, Blatz has earned her Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM), Home With Diversity (AHWD), Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Resort & Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS), Transnational Referral Certification (TRC), and Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), and GREEN professional real estate designations. She also holds her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).
