The Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® is pleased to announce our distinguished speakers for our fourth annual Economic Expectations Program:
Michael Goodman, Associate Professor of Public Policy and Director at UMASS Dartmouth Center for Policy Analysis
Dr. Goodman has authored or co-authored over two dozen professional publications on a wide range of public policy including regional economic development and housing policy as well as demographic and other applied social science research topics. An economic sociologist, Dr. Goodman is a three time past president of the New England Economic Partnership, a nonprofit organization made up of leading regional analysts that produces semi-annual economic forecasts of the economic outlook for each of the six New England states. He currently serves as Co-Editor of MassBenchmarks, the journal of the Massachusetts Economy published by the UMASS Donahue Institute in corporation with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Dr. Goodman earned his MA and Ph.D. at Boston University.
David L. Stiff, Principal Economist Case-Shiller CoreLogic
Dr. Stiff is the principal economist for the CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indexes®. In this role Dr. Stiff directs the research and development of the quantitative valuation, home price index and forecasting models. Dr. Stiff has been working with the Case-Shiller Indices since 2000. Prior to that he held the position of manager of regional economic forecasts for all U.S. states, cities, and countries. He also worked at S.H. Putnam, where he was responsible for the programming and implementation of a system of computer models used to forecast economic activity in metropolitan areas. Dr. Stiff graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in economics, obtained a master's degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and received a Ph.D in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
