Springfield Broker Elected Director-At-Large of Massachusetts Association of Realtors®

WALTHAM, Mass. – December 5, 2018 – Brian Sears, a broker/co-owner at Sears Real Estate in Springfield, will begin his second term as Director-at-Large for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) for 2019.  The installation took place at the Williams Inn in Williamstown, Mass. and included the installation of the MAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee.  

As director-at-large, Sears will serve as a state director and a voting member of the Executive Committee.  

This is Sears’ second term as director-at-large at MAR.  He has also been an MAR director since 2007 and served as the MAR Western Region Vice President from 2013 to 2015.  Most recently, he served on the Strategic Planning Task Force and the Building Task Force in 2018.  In 2019, he will serve again on the Building Task Force as well as on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.  

On the local level, Sears served as president of the Realtor® Association of Pioneer Valley in 2013.  

On the national level, Sears will serve as a member of the Federal Taxation Committee for the third year in a row in 2019.  In 2017, he also served as Chair of the Regulatory Issues Forum and as a member of the Public Policy Coordinating Committee.  He served on the National Association of Realtors® Board of Directors in 2017. 

A Realtor® since 2002, Sears is a former Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has earned his Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).  Before becoming a Realtor®, Sears was a Manager for KPMG Accounting Firm in Boston, MA.
