  • {legal Realtor®} Using Reasonable Care to Clear Snow and Ice

    While most laws governing real estate date back 100 years or more, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court changed long-standing rules governing the duty of property owners to clear snow and ice in a 2010 decision, Papadopoulos v. Target Corp. For more than a century, Massachusetts law had been that property owners could not be found liable for injuries due to the “natural accumulation” of snow and ice.
