By Amy Chorew There have been lots of new updates on Facebook, which made me go back into the help section and reread about some of the features. I wanted to share two existing but important Facebook features with you.
Show some love and tag friends in status updates.
For networking, it can be very effective to extend the reach of a post especially if you are involved at an event with other Facebook friends. If you want to give some special Facebook love to someone and have it link back to their Facebook profile, do the following.
Write your status update and make sure to include the @symbol before their name. Your status won’t show the @ but it will create a hyperlink to your friend’s page. They will receive the notification linking back to your posts.
Here is an example of what it looks like:
And then there is removing a photo tag
Here is a friendly reminder, friends don’t let friends take pictures after 5 p.m. and post them on Facebook without letting you know. If they do you may want to make sure those photos don’t get shared on Facebook. If someone snaps a shot of you at a nightclub in Vegas, you may want that information to stay in Vegas. Make sure you get remniders from Facebook whenever anyone tags you in a photo. You can make sure this is turned on under Account Settings > Notifications. This is located in the upper right hand corner of Facebook under account:
Alerts for photo tagging in Facebook
Once you have been alerted: • View the photo • Choose to remove the tag at the bottom next to your name. • Remember, only the owner of the photo or the person tagged can remove the tag.
