Take Your Video to the Next Level
Instructor: Ian Smith
If a photo is worth a thousand words, then 24 frames-per-second of video is priceless. Just ask Ian Smith from the Center for REALTOR® Technology at the National Association of REALTORS®, a master of online video. During this session he will give you tips, tricks and techniques to shooting video that looks great online. Learn what you need to know about the different video formats available. Find out what kinds of cameras work best, what you can do to get better audio, as well as tips and tricks to edit your videos before posting on the Internet. Ian will also explain the differences between some of the most prominent video-hosting services and how to integrate your video into your website.

Forum Discussion - Contact Management Software
Panelists: Doug Azarian, Kimberl Allard-Moccia, Lenny Harris
There are more choices for contact management software in the marketplace than there are listings on Realtor.com. How do you know which one is right for you? Why not let three successful REALTORS®, each using one of the top three CRM tools in the market, show you what they like about Outlook, Top Producer and AgentOffice. This panel-style discussion, moderated by MAR Director of Technology Mike Cutlip, will allow time for each panelist to show the pros and cons of the software they use while leaving ample time for audience questions at the end of the session. Ask your counterparts, not salespeople, which contact management software might be right for you.

Using Web Analytics to Influence Business Decisions
Instructor: Union Street Media
How do people find your website? What do they do when they get there? What can you do to help improve conversions? Learn how YOU can measure and improve the success of your web site and all of your lead generation efforts using basic tools provided by Google Analytics (GA), Google's free web statistics reporting tool.  Union Street Media, a leading Internet Marketing firm for real estate agents and offices, will demonstrate basic reports and goal tracking using GA, and how you can learn from them. You will learn how to continuously improve your web site, how to find out what your prospective clients are most interested in and where they tend to find you, and how you can hone your message and marketing efforts both online and offline to get more leads.

Advanced Online Social Networking
Instructor: Ian Smith
You already have an account on Facebook and LinkedIn, maybe even Twitter. You send photos and chat online, but when it comes to making yourself more efficient with these tools you’re at a loss. In this session for the advanced social media user Ian Smith will show you how to link many of your social media accounts together using syndication tools like RSS feeds, widgets, applications, and third-party services. This will allow you to create news and updates for your social media contacts one time, in one place, and have it appear in many locations across the web. Additionally, aggregating content from many sources can be an equally time-consuming challenge. Ian will cover tools and services to increase efficiency by bringing the news to you instead of you going to find the news.

Advanced Blogging
Instructor: Dan Shawbel
As a realtor, a blog can serve as a sales vehicle, reference point, online community and potential revenue stream. It will help you attract new business, meet new people and become an industry leader. Dan Schawbel, a blogging and personal branding expert, who has taken his blog from unknown to world recognized, will show you how your blog can make a big difference in your life. Throughout this discussion, you will learn how to step away from a beginner blogger to become an expert.

  • The various marketing channels available to give your blog visibility
  • Blog formatting and multimedia embedding

Advanced Outlook Techniques
Instructor: Katy Mayo
Microsoft Outlook is one of the most widespread contact management tools in the market. As with most software, it contains many misunderstood and hidden features that can be extremely useful for ongoing client communications and marketing campaigns. In this session you will learn to efficiently manage your contacts, emails and calendars using Outlook 2007’s “categories” feature. Microsoft certified instructor Katy Mayo will show you how to create and use categories to filter contacts for use in mail merges on letters, labels and emails. You will also see how to produce distribution lists to send emails to multiple email addresses. See how to organize your email messages and other Outlook items to be more resourceful and efficient in your daily business.
