Keeping it Real: The MAR Report – Special Edition Massachusetts Mandatory Healthcare Law
If you haven’t heard by now, as of July 1, 2007 Massachusetts law requires that all working people in the state carry health insurance. If you fail to get coverage in 2007, you will lose your personal exemption. In subsequent years, a fine equaling 50% of the monthly cost of health insurance for each month you weren’t covered will be assessed.
What exactly does the law mandate and what options and services are available to MAR members who need help in getting insurance. Answers to these questions and more will be available for you on this special edition of The MAR Report.
