As we begin 2010, there is nothing more prevalent in our life than change, and the speed at which our world is changing is both exciting and also overwhelming. My name is Lenny Harris and I am your new Massachusetts CRS Chapter President. I am very excited to be at the helm of one of the top chapters in the country and I embrace the opportunity of being in the real estate industry at a time of such change and rapid shifts in paradigms. I also believe that in order to move into the future we must stay in touch with our past and remember that our business is best done in a face-to-face manner. It is this integration of the past and the future that will allow us, as both individuals and a chapter, to remain successful. We invite you…no, we actually challenge you…to help the Massachusetts Chapter make all of us better at what we do.
CRS is not only about the education, CRS is not only about networking and referrals, and CRS has never just been about putting three letters at the end of our real estate signature. The value of the CRS designation is about surrounding ourselves with the best and the brightest in our business…and make no mistake, the statistics clearly show that we are, indeed, the leaders in our industry. The CRS designee earns an average of four times more than the average REALTOR® who sells residential real estate. There are over 1.2 million REALTORS® in the country today and less than 3.5% hold the prestigious CRS designation, the symbol of excellence in residential sales. In these times of rapid change and a down economy, why not cash into this wealth of knowledge and expertise and become more involved? CRS designees are among the most caring and sharing people in our industry.
If you put your CRS pin in the back of a drawer someplace, you don’t give it much of a chance to help you be successful. Become involved with your fellow CRS designees and chapter members by attending our networking events and programs, joining a committee, or taking a class…did you know that Massachusetts Chapter designees can take local, 2-day CRS courses at half price, space permitting? I would love to hear from all of you with any suggestions that you might have in how our chapter could better help provide value, to you, the member. This is an organization that is built on serving the needs of ALL of our members. You, like me, made the decision at one time to earn and maintain your CRS designation, and I ask you now to make the decision to make your designation as value-packed as possible.
I look forward in 2010 to renewing old friendships as well as making new ones, and I especially look forward to hearing from, and meeting, each and every one of you!
