Welcome to the Council of Residential Specialists
Massachusetts Chapter
Most people who know me know I’m an optimist by nature. So, not surprisingly, I'm very optimistic and enthusiastic about 2012 for a whole host of reasons. Not just for the real estate market in Massachusetts, but for the Massachusetts Chapter of CRS and its members, as well. With input and support from an unprecedented number of our chapter members, I hope to make 2012 a year for the ages!
Just like National CRS President, Mark Minchew, my goal is to focus on creating better-informed, better-educated Realtors® who will attract more clients and help each of those clients achieve better outcomes. This will bring our members more business, adding significantly to their bottom lines. This will in turn enable them to do more for their families and friends, as well as for the causes that matter most to them.
However, we need your participation to make this goal a reality. Come to a class, attend an event, get involved on a chapter committee, participate in online discussions. And, at every opportunity, let us know what matters to you. By attending or getting personally involved with any of the many chapter events throughout the year, and by making suggestions and helping us bring your ideas to fruition, you will make the chapter more valuable to yourself and to others.
2012 will be an event-filled year for the chapter. In addition to our spring and fall 2-day CRS courses held in Waltham, MA, we’re planning at least one additional 2-day course in another New England state. We will be conducting a series of Mastermind events in seven locations around Massachusetts and New Hampshire. And we’re also hoping to bring in one or two additional national-level speakers for high-quality training at a very reasonable cost to chapter members. More details on these events as they get finalized.
Now whenever you do attend a class or event, bring a friend or two along. Help them share in the business-building training and environment that make CRS designees and candidates stand above the rest. Let them know that, according to the most recent figures, agents with a CRS designation make up less than 4 percent of all Realtors®, yet we are involved in over 24 percent of all residential real estate transactions in the U.S.
One or two new tools or ideas can make the difference between getting a listing and losing it, or securing a buyer-client's loyalty and having them drift away, or keeping a deal together and having it crash. You'll get many such tools at CRS events, and literally dozens of them in our two-day classes.
The three most important factors in your getting something of value from your chapter membership are participation, participation, and participation. If you never come to a class or other event or if you sit on the sidelines and never join in on an online discussion, you're missing out on the opportunity to network with potential referral partners and to learn something of real value to your business or personal life.
So I hope to hear early and often from you this year, and I look forward to seeing you at our classes and events.
Also, we’ll soon be revamping the look, feel, and functionality of the chapter website. We’ll be rolling that out in the first quarter of the year. When that’s ready to go, we’ll be sure to let you know about it.
