At the 2008 NAR Convention in Orlando, MAR IT Director Mike Cutlip sat down with Dan Woolley and Greg Robertson of
Dwellicious, along with Chris McKeever of the
Center for Realtor Technology and Dan Rothamel of
RealEstateZebra.com. The conversation was about a new “social bookmarking” website, founded by Greg and Dan, with a focus on the real estate industry.
The name of the website is “Dwellicious” and it is a play on the original social bookmarking website called
Delicious. If you’re not familiar with the concept, social bookmarking is about making someone’s website bookmarks public and shareable (you can still choose to keep certain bookmarks private) so others can benefit from your knowledge of the Internet. For example, if one person has many real estate technology websites bookmarked in their Delicious account, others interested in the same topic can review them for novel finds in addition to suggesting new websites. The sharing of websites that would otherwise be difficult to find is what puts the “social” into social bookmarking.
Dwellicious takes this concept to the real estate industry by applying social bookmarking principles to home search. Listen to the interview as Dan and Greg explain the concept and how it can benefit real estate agents.
