Social Media: Reap the Benefits without Burning Out
Elissa Giroux, Director of Internet Marketing
Union Street Media
Review these five tips to staying active on social media:
Maximize your time.
When you do find some time to write, make it count. Instead of one long article, write three smaller posts for your blog. Publish one now and schedule the others to run in the future.
Call on your friends.
Invite a friend, colleague, or industry expert to provide an article that’s relevant to the theme of your blog. Be sure to give your guest author credit, and link back to their website or blog as a courtesy.
Stop duplicating your efforts.
Questions you hear on a regular basis can also be crafted into blog posts. The next time a customer asks, simply send out a link to your post.
Syndicate your posts.
Socialmedia tools like HootSuite and Posterous make it easy to post in one place and broadcast across many social networks.
Highlight an article someone else wrote.
If you find an article of interest to your customers, share it through social media or your blog.Again, give credit where it’s due and
provide a unique intro explaining why you feel the info is valuable.
