FREE Continuing Education Now Available
4/28/2010

The Massachusetts Association of Realtors®, together with your local REALTOR® association, has developed an online learning center, where members can take free courses toward renewal of your license, day or night, from anywhere.

By logging into the Massachusetts Realtor® Online Education Center through your local association, users will have the ability to complete timed Continuing Education (CE) courses. Non-members also have the ability to take online CE courses through the education center for a fee of $50.00 per course.

Just the facts:
Q.
How long will the course take and how does the system ensure I take the two full hours?
A. You log onto the course using your NRDS membership number. The system has an internal timer which prevents you from going too fast and will not allow you to complete the course in a time shorter than the state regulation of two hours. When the timer for a slide reaches zero, you are allowed to advance to the next slide. You can reference the timer in the lower-left corner of all CE courses.

Q. Is there a test? A. There are quizzes throughout the course to help ensure that you are learning the material; however, you will be allowed to continue until you get the answer right. Per state regulation, the results of the quizzes do not affect your CE credit but they will be used to adjust the course material and assist the user with a better educational experience.

Q. Must I take the course all at once?
A. You can stop a course at any time and return to it later. The course will appear in your list of purchased courses on your user homepage and the system will remember where you left off.

Q. How does the system ensure  that a non-member isn’t using someone else’s NRDS number to access a course for free?
A. The course completion certifi cate and online record will refl ect the person who actually has the NRDS number, so the illegal non-member will get no credit for completing the course.

Q. Will I need to download any special software to take the courses?
A. The courses are Internet-based, so you only need a browser and high-speed internet connection.
