Though the Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI) designation has been around since 1974, the course modules have never been more relevant than they are today. With curriculum that spotlights skills for success, smart growth, green awareness, negotiations, open house safety plans, managing risk, and technology, holding your GRI designation indicates to sellers, buyers, and other Realtors® that you have made a commitment to offer high-level professional service to all of your clients and customers. In today’s ever changing and complex real estate market, a GRI designation can give you the educational advantage you need. Available only to Realtor® members, the GRI is obtained by attending a series of six two-day education modules totaling 90 hours, over a maximum period of five years. Additional benefits of the program include paying per module (instead of an up-front or semestertype fee) and earning a total of 34 hours of continuing education credits throughout the program. The tuition fee is $250 per module, and each module is currently offered at MAR’s Waltham headquarters one to two times per year. Once you have earned your designation, it is yours to keep, with no annual dues required.
Already a GRI Designee? Even if you’ve already earned your GRI designation, you can benefit from the program. You have the opportunity to attend any of the GRI modules at any time for as little as $125 per course, providing you get instruction on current relevant subject matter. Over the past few years, MAR has revised many of the modules to reflect the latest changes in the real estate industry. This is an excellent time to take a refresher course or to learn something new, and because you have already earned your designation, you will not be required to take the tests. If you received your designation over five years ago, you may contact MAR for more details.
