Be part of the REALTOR® organization that is looking out for our professional interest. Amleto "Mel" Martocchia, Waltham
Knowing that you belong to an Association that will always support its Members, and provide the guidance and correct information for them to conduct their business without outside influences, and stay away from 93A's. That's what the value of being a REALTOR® means to me, personally. Avery E. Brannaka, Somerset
The magazine is awesome to look forward to every time... Jay McHugh, Brookline
The most value benefits of MAR is the combined update and refresher course education and legal advise from the legal hotline Lawyers and staff to keep us current on the ever changing real estate market, laws, and new issues. Maureen H Brennan, Worcester
I particularly find helpful the state-wide stats – being able to see region-by-region how we are doing statewide and how my region compares with the others. Because real estate is “local” I have a good handle on what is happening on Cape Cod but how the rest of the state is doing also has a strong bearing on my local market. Shirley Bahler, Sandwich
We know the countless discounts more than pay for MAR's dues, but I think the most valuable item is the Legal Resources. It is comforting to know, as a REALTOR®, that the State Association is always there to answer legal questions when needed. Mary Ellen Cox, Auburn
Local board offers free CEU’s MaryAnn Riel, Sutton
I consider the most valuable benefit of membership in MAR to be the automatic membership to NAR and NSAR. The fact that all three organizations are synchronized is just wonderful. I love being connected at the local, state and national levels as each group offers unique benefits for networking, referrals, continuing education and political decision making. Lynne Breed, Marblehead
I think lobbying for homeowner rights and protections is our most important cause. Such things as town regulations that put unnecessary burdens on homeowners –e.g. Regulations that exceed the state’s Title V and are very costly and burdensome to homeowners. Jean McDonnell, Wellesley
I find things like discounts on goods and services to be nice perks. But the thing I find most beneficial is the strength in our numbers - our voice. When we see things that could harm our industry or property owners' rights, we speak up loudly and firmly. We are heard. Without our actions on the local and state levels, we would see our incomes decline, and our rights as homeowners picked apart. It's a "big picture" kind of thing with direct application in our day to day lives. Anne Meczywor, Lenox
Most everything, especially Real Estate Forms and Legal Hotline Louise Ciaraldi, Methuen
I find the Legal Hotline is of of the best benefits of being a member of MAR, as well as, the contracts and education opportunities. Maureen McFarland, Monterey
I feel the most valuable benefit of my membership is being kept up to date on the latest real estate issues. Joyce M. Verna, Wrentham
Being an active member--attending classes and participating on committees--is an important means of furthering one's professional development. The chance to interact meaningfully with other REALTORS® reinforces one's sense of value in the profession. Barbara Shea, Westwood
The legal hot line is a tremendous resource to help us resolve issues, reduce our liability, and stay current on legal issues that affect our business. Ellen Rao, Medfield
I think having mediation/arbitration available to us as means to resolve disputes is an important member benefit. Lee Joseph, Worcester
The most valuable benefit to membership is the opportunity to communicate, network and learn about people, places & things that are relevant to real estate professionals. Education thorough communication by email or classroom training has been priceless. Tom Gorman, Dedham
The membership benefits which I feel are most important are: 1) Legal guidance and support when needed. In today's litigious society, it's great to know we have attorneys just a phone call away that can help us sort through the most complicated real estate transactions. 2) Free informative webinars that can be viewed anytime when it is convenient to the broker/agent. 3) The free magazine publications with updates on industry information and information about our members. Whether you are a broker or agent, many of the articles and stories deal with real day-to-day issues and experiences with which we can relate. The articles sometime give us a different perspective on situations we often deal with and can help us to grow and become more knowledgeable in our profession. Carol Lopes, New Bedford
"There are multiple benefits that I find valuable with my MAR membership. One of my favorites is the Bay State REALTOR® Magazine!! Being a full time REALTOR®, I look forward to reading all the latest up to date information that is provided. It is very informative and helps me stay educated and successful in my profession!! Joanne Mecke, Mattapoisett
MAR Advocacy at the local, state & national level is by far the most valuable benefit to me & my company. Truly a priceless benefit in my opinion. I'm always baffled when I hear REALTORS®complain about the annual dues. They say, "what does the board do for me?" I like to respond with, "what doesn't the board do for you!" A no brainer - really! Scott Gordon, Quincy
One of the benefits I like are the free webinars. Joan E. Fitzgibbons, North Andover
Professional pride. Carolyn M. Haley, Brimfield
Education, up to date information, discounts. answers to problems. Marie F. Benoit, Bridgewater
Legislative updates, legal issues benefits Harry Cutts, Chatham
Government and legal advocacy, for sure! At the heart of everything we do as practitioners is the right to practice, and behind each and every one of us as practitioners is a vigilant association filled with staff and volunteers who collectively keep a watchful eye on upcoming and pending legislation and regulatory trends and issues at the grass roots level in order to ensure that we can operate seamlessly and safely. As Members, we are often blind to that amazing scope of work. Look no further than the closing table to find that MAR, its staff and volunteer Leadership, have had our backs from the moment we put on our REALTOR® pins. Linda O'Connor, Beverly
The recognition the REALTOR® R brings. I wear my pin every day and have done at least two transactions from people talking to me about real estate while I’m out shopping or in the community! Leslie DelMonaco, Leominster
Legislative and regulatory advocacy clearly ranks as the most important member benefit of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®. Douglas R. Payson, Orleans
In a word, respect. From buyers, sellers, and fellow REALTORS®. Having been a Realtor for 24 years I can say the pride I have experienced with the REALTORS® logo on my business card has been a very real confidence booster. Viola Fish, Osterville
To me, the most valuable part of Membership is the fact that we, as REALTORS®, have access to every listing in our area and are treated with respect and dignity by all of our fellow REALTORS®. For over 28 years I have enjoyed this honor and I am still proud to be a "REALTOR®"...... Joanne LaPlante, Southampton
MAR's legal counsel/government affairs staff are exceptional. They provide the members with expert advice and cogent updates on legislative initiatives. We are fortunate to have Steve Ryan on our staff.
Mary O'Donoghue, Andover
The most valuable benefit of membership locally, statewide and nationally is the honor I feel to belong to such a great group of professionals. The important work that is done to lobby for the things that are fundamental to protecting the ideal of homeownership is "priceless" as they say. If only all real estate practitioners would take a few minutes to really examine the multitude of benefits we receive for our membership dollars they would never have to question the value. Also, I believe they would see how important they are as an individual and the very important role they play to help people everyday provide security for their families through homeownership and the American Dream !
