I think lobbying for homeowner rights and protections is our most important cause. Such things as town regulations that put unnecessary burdens on homeowners –e.g. Regulations that exceed the state’s Title V and are very costly and burdensome to homeowners.

I find things like discounts on goods and services to be nice perks. But the thing I find most beneficial is the strength in our numbers - our voice. When we see things that could harm our industry or property owners' rights, we speak up loudly and firmly. We are heard. Without our actions on the local and state levels, we would see our incomes decline, and our rights as homeowners picked apart. It's a "big picture" kind of thing with direct application in our day to day lives.

1) Legal guidance and support when needed. In today's litigious society, it's great to know we have attorneys just a phone call away that can help us sort through the most complicated real estate transactions.
2) Free informative webinars that can be viewed anytime when it is convenient to the broker/agent.
3) The free magazine publications with updates on industry information and information about our members. Whether you are a broker or agent, many of the articles and stories deal with real day-to-day issues and experiences with which we can relate. The articles sometime give us a different perspective on situations we often deal with and can help us to grow and become more knowledgeable in our profession.
