 The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® Free Forms Online is a modern platform that replaces the old method of keeping forms on hand, in storage boxes. It is also a greener solution because both agents and brokers will only print out the forms that they really need. In addition, I believe the environmentally-friendly component is important in a time when fewer and fewer materials are printed in order to preserve the earth’s natural resources. I was privileged to chair the committee that worked on the MAR Free Forms project in 2010 with very thoughtful REALTOR® volunteers who spent many hours testing and vetting to find the best service to fulfill a need for an easy-to-use online platform for standardized forms.
REALTORS® in Massachusetts now get a new tool for their technology toolboxes as part of their annual membership dues. MAR’s Free Forms application is powered by Form Simplicity, developed by the Florida Association of REALTORS®, which prints forms without creating transactions, populates forms with data from an association's MLS database, and archives transactions online, thus eliminating the need for filing cabinets and storage boxes.
The web-based solution provides an end-to-end online real estate forms process to its users for expediting real estate transactions, while at the same time eliminating the need for paper processes.
MAR members will become more mobile as well. Having an online platform accessible from anywhere will help agents and give them one less thing to worry about while they are out on the road, closing transactions. This is important to our increasingly mobile society, where much business is conducted via tablet computer, laptop, or mobile phone.
We worked with Form Simplicity to customize the online forms platform for MAR using the MassForms™ library, which provides all of the forms and other materials necessary to ensure that it is tailored specifically for member use. Because the service is in the “cloud,” members are able to access the forms from anywhere, from any device or computer, via password protected site. There is no software to download, and no special equipment required to use it.
The new platform will serve as a viable, more affordable replacement for paid paper forms and other online services, which charge a fee. We are rolling out the new platform, and have taken great pains to test the product thoroughly before introducing it to you. At the same time, we’ll be working to improve and enhance the product to bring you the best forms service possible as an extraordinary benefit of membership.
