From the Editor: Spreading the News

Although we are on different ends of the association structure, you as the member and me as a staff member, we are both very much in the communications business. You are communicating and marketing your
services to clients and customers, and my mission is to market and communicate association services to you, the member.

The MAR staff and I work with the REALTOR® leaders to institute programs and services that will help you to achieve business success, and we work diligently to make you aware of these programs and services. Therefore, our top priority is spreading the news about all of the great programs and events that the leadership plans on your behalf.

How do we do it? We deliver the message through many different communication vehicles, and I’d like to remind you of them so you can keep in touch with the industry and the REALTOR® organization, as well as keep you aware of the member benefits available to you by virtue of your membership.

I’ll begin with this magazine, the only form of communication that is delivered to each and every member of the organization. With that in mind, we work to bring you industry news, marketing information, and association news. We’ve taken the opportunity in this issue to share additional information about valuable member services through an insert located between pages 12 and 13. This brochure highlights numerous free and discounted services and products that you can use in your business, including a few that have just been launched.

Marealtor.com is another key communication vehicle that is updated regularly and is a pathway to our online magazine, baystaterealtor.com. Both areas house useful information such as market statistics, legal updates, and current industry news. The website is constantly scrutinized to keep current with information you need, and this information is formatted in an easy-to-find manner.

If you flip back to the president’s message, you’ll see a glimpse of what members are saying on our social mediums.MAR’s group page on LinkedIn, fan page on Facebook,and blog at www.themarreport.com are all important tools for you to utilize. The social mediums serve as great resources for sharing news and encouraging conversation. We have a lot to share. Take a look.
