As the 2013 President, I believe one of my responsibilities is to reach out and get to know as many members in as many areas of the state as possible; this is because I can do my job better if I know you and know what your concerns and needs are. I trust that my efforts are assisting the goals of the Association, but I also realize that it will help me and my business in learning more about various local markets, growing my referral network, and learning more about my industry which I can pass along to my clients. The Association is enhancing its communications tools to engage you and to help you see what the Association and reaching fellow members can do for you. Our social media technologies are expanding on Facebook, LinkedIn, The MAR Report blog, monthly training/educational Webinars,  and more. Through these mediums, you can be better informed by learning from experts in their field about current trends, legislation, and  tools that can benefit your business. But even more importantly, the channels are open for you to communicate and share your ideas, questions, struggles, or triumphs. At the same time, you are forming relationships and becoming better connected which will surely impact your success.

 

Also, we are providing easy and better ways for you to participate in Association Committees and meetings. One of the best ways to take advantage of the networking and informational opportunities within the Association is to join a Committee, either at your local Association or on the state level. You can learn so much from your fellow members, and the Association surely benefits when new volunteers join the ranks with fresh ideas and input.

 

And, in consideration of your valuable time, committee members can now attend a meeting virtually through Adobe Connect Web Conferencing, an easy-to-use system with step by step instructions available to assist you. We’ve helped enable you to try your hand at getting involved without it being overwhelming. Through enhancing participation opportunities, we hope to increase engagement and communications within the Association.
