Angela Harkins, broker/owner of Angela Harkins & Associates in Westford, has been appointed Vice President of Legal Affairs/Member Benefits for the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) in 2012.

 

As Vice President of Legal Affairs/Member Benefits, Harkins is responsible for coordinating the initiatives of the MAR Business Plan relative to the Association’s professional standards and legal services; as well as those initiatives that relate to research and member benefits, standard forms, and the Association’s electronic information services.  In addition, she will act as a liaison between leadership and all MAR work groups formed under legal affairs and member benefits.  She automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her appointment as a focus area vice president.

 

Harkins most recently served MAR as Northern Region Vice President and has been a member of the MAR Board of Directors since 2007. She has also served on the Professional Standards, Grievance, and Government Affairs Committees.
 
At the local level, Harkins was the Chairperson of the Education Committee, a member of the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, and the Political Involvement Committee in 2011. She was president of the Northeast Association of REALTORS® in 2010.  Harkins has been a member of the NEAR Board of Directors since 2007 and was named Educator of the Year in 2007. In 2011, Harkins was name NEAR REALTOR® of the Year. 

 

On the national level, she was a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Government Affairs Committee. In 2010, Harkins was recognized by NAR as one of the finalists for the National 2010 REALTOR® Technology Spotlight Award.

 

A REALTOR® since 2001, Harkins has earned her Accredited Seller Representative (ASR), Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), and e-PRO professional designations.  Harkins is also a graduate of the REALTOR® Institute (GRI).
