Lynette Helms of Barnstable, a broker-manager of Real Estate Associates in North Falmouth, has been elected Cape Cod & Islands Region vice president of the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS®  (MAR) for 2011. 

As vice president for the Cape Cod & Islands region, Helms will coordinate association objectives and activities within the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS®  (CCIAOR), and meet regularly with local and regional leadership to discuss real estate industry issues of statewide importance.   She automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her election as regional vice president.

At the state level, Helms has been a member of the MAR Board of Directors since 2006.  She has also served on the Forms Content, Business Development and Professional Standards Committees.  Helms has been a member of the MAR Charitable Foundation since 2007 and in 2009 served as its chair.

On the local level, Helms was the 2010 president of the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® and has been a member of its Board of Directors since 2006.
 
At the national level, Helms is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors.  She is the vice chair of the 2011 International Forum and a member of the 2011 Global Business and Alliances Committee and the 2011 Forum-Conference Sub-committee.

A REALTOR® since 1987, Helms has earned her Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM), Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), Resort & Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS) and GREEN professional real estate designations.  Helms has also obtained her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).
