Judy de Abreu, broker at RE/MAX Welcome Home in Taunton, has been elected Southern Region vice president for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2010.

As vice president for the Southern region, de Abreu will coordinate association objectives and activities within the North Bristol County, Plymouth and South Shore and Tri-County Associations of REALTORS®, and meet regularly with local and regional leadership to discuss real estate industry issues of statewide importance.  She automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her election as a regional vice president.

Judy de Abreu has served on the MAR Board of Directors since 2007.  She has been a member of the Government Affairs Committee, Professional Standards Committee, and Forms Content Advisory Committee.

On the local level, de Abreu was the 2007 president of the North Bristol County Association of REALTORS® (NBCAR).  She has also served on the Grievance Committee, Building Committee, Personnel Committee, Finance Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee.  In 2007, she was named NBCAR’s REALTOR® of the Year.  

A REALTOR® since 1996, de Abreu has earned her Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) professional real estate designations.  In addition, she has earned her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).
