Peter Ruffini, broker and partner of Options 1 5 3, Mullen & Partners in Plymouth, has been appointed vice president of government affairs for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) in 2010.

As vice president for government affairs, Ruffini is responsible for coordinating the initiatives of the MAR Business Plan relative to public policy issues, grass-roots organizational efforts, and legislative and political action activities of the Association.  In addition, he will act as a liaison between leadership and all work groups formed under the MAR government affairs umbrella.  He automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of his appointment as a focus area vice president.

Ruffini has served on the MAR Board of Directors since 2006.  In 2009, Ruffini served as the South Region Vice President.  He was a member of the Finance Committee and chair of the Technology Committee in 2008.  Ruffini has also been a mediation officer and a member of the Technology, Government Affairs, and Professional Standards Committees in previous years. 

On the local level, Ruffini was the 2007 president of the Plymouth and South Shore Association of REALTORS®.  In 2009, he was his local association’s REALTOR® of the Year.   

A REALTOR® since 2001, Ruffini has earned his Certified Buyer Representative (CBR), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and professional real estate designations and e-PRO certification.
