Deborah Heffernan, broker/owner of Avenue 3 Real Estate, LLC in Cambridge, has been appointed vice president of professional development for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® for 2010.
As vice president for professional development, Heffernan is responsible for coordinating the initiatives of the MAR Business Plan relative to the Association’s educational outreach efforts to REALTORSÒ. In addition, she will act as a liaison between leadership and all work groups formed for professional development. She automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her appointment as a focus area vice president.
An MAR director since 1996, Heffernan has been the Chair of the Broker-Owner Manager Forum, a Chair of the Bylaws Committee, and a member of the Finance Committee, Audit Committee and the Professional Standards Committee.
At the local level, Heffernan is the 2010 President-Elect of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) and a member of the Board of Directors and the Grievance Committee.
A REALTOR® since 1984, Heffernan has earned her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC) and e-PRO Certification.
