Marilyn Jarvis of RE/MAX Advantage Real Estate in Beverly and a resident of Swampscott has been elected Northern Region vice president for the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) for 2009.
 
As vice president for the Northern region, Jarvis will coordinate association objectives and activities within the Eastern Middlesex, Greater Newburyport, Northeast, and North Shore Associations of REALTORS® and meet regularly with local and regional leadership to discuss real estate industry issues of statewide importance.  She automatically becomes a member of the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors as a result of her election as a regional vice president.

Jarvis, is a member of the MAR Board of Directors and was Chair of the Education and Events and Educator of the Year selection committees in 2009.  She is a graduate of the 2007 MAR Leadership Academy.  She is a member of the Massachusetts chapter of CRS Board of Directors and the Council’s 2010 Treasurer.  In 2009, Jarvis was named Massachusetts REALTOR® of the Year.

At the local level, Marilyn is a past president of the North Shore Association of REALTORS® (NSAR), a member of the Finance, Government Affairs and Nominating and Leadership Development Committees and Chair of the Member Recognition Committee.  In 2009, she was NSAR’s REALTOR® of the Year.  

On the national level, she was a member of the National Association of REALTORS® 2010 Housing Opportunity Committee. 

A REALTOR® since 1986, Jarvis has earned her Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and GREEN professional designations; is a graduate of the REALTOR® Institute (GRI); and has earned her Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC).
