MAR Charitable Foundation Awards Housing Grants

The MAR Charitable Foundation awarded $14,500 in grants to a record 15 housing and homeless assistance organizations in Massachusetts at the Board of Directors meeting held May 23.  The housing grant program was initiated to complement the volunteer support and financial assistance that local REALTOR® Associations across Massachusetts are already providing to she lters, soup kitchens, affordable housing agencies, and transitional housing programs in their communities.

The non-profit organizations that received grants this Spring are:
  • Cape Ann Homeownership Center/Gloucester Housing Authority
  • Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell
  • Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth
  • Habitat for Humanity Metro West/Greater Worcester
  • Horizons for Homeless Children
  • Latham Center, Inc. 
  • Massachusetts Housing & Shelter Alliance
  • Nantucket Interfaith Council/Nantucket Rental Assistance Program
  • Our Place Daycare Center for Homeless Children
  •  Pro Home, Inc.
  •  Project Just Because
  •  The Salvation Army of New Bedford
  •  The Stoneham Food Pantry/First Congregational Church
  •  Wellspring Multi-Service Center Womanshelter/Companeras, Inc.
